Matthew D. Garson is a shareholder in the Industrial and Consumer Product Liability Groups in the Philadelphia office of Lavin, O’Neil, Cedrone & DiSipio. His practice focuses on the defense of consumer product manufacturers and insurance carriers.
Mr. Garson manages products liability, construction, and premises liability litigation. He has conducted arbitrations, mediations and settlement conferences and tried several small claims cases to verdict. He has experience supervising local counsel throughout the United States for a national utility locating company and serves as general counsel in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
In 2009, Mr. Garson was selected to attend the International Association of Defense Counsel (“IADC”) Trial Academy at Stanford University, Stanford, California.
Mr. Garson earned his Juris Doctor in 2004 from Villanova University School of Law where he served as Associate Editor of Outside Articles for the Villanova Environmental Law Journal. He graduated from Rutgers University—New Brunswick in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. While at Rutgers, Mr. Garson served as vice-president of the Rutgers Marketing Association.
He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania state courts and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Philadelphia and New Jersey bar associations.
Mr. Garson has served on the firm’s Summer Associate Hiring Committee.
